Once lively and active, Mudassar Ali has faced numerous challenges over the past four years. Due to a debilitating condition, he has struggled to walk normally. Despite enduring 23 surgeries after a road accident, his journey took an unexpected turn when doctors had to amputate his limb in 2023. Mudassar’s family has shown unwavering strength and resilience throughout these trying times. Before the accident, Mudassar worked diligently at a pharmaceutical company. However, their world turned upside down, as he lost his job and the family’s only source of income. Mudassar’s elderly father and younger brother stepped ahead as the sole breadwinners, struggling to make ends meet to support their family of nine. The financial burden has become overwhelming, making it impossible for them to afford the surgical expenses required to provide Mudassar with a chance at a better life.
While speaking on the phone with our team member, Mudassar shared the following thoughts:
“I am tired now. I have been in and out of the hospital for the past four years. My leg has been cut up and stitched. Each time, as I got close to healing, I was hopeful thinking that now I will finally stand on my feet again. But to my disappointment, the nightmare never ended, and finally, after 23 surgical procedures, my leg was finally amputated. Now my only hope lies with a prosthetic leg.”
